When I Grow Up …

by Amry on February 25, 2014

whenigrowupDo your kids make sweeping statements about what they want to be when they grow up?

This is a new thing for Amelia. Usually when she’s soaking in her evening bubble bath or pulling on her jeans first thing in the morning is when she’ll suddenly come out with detailed plans for her future vocation. Of course it’s always something new. Why just last week alone she expressed interest in becoming a librarian because she loves books, an explorer because she wants to wear her binoculars all day every day and lastly a doctor because she wants to help people feel better – or maybe just because she takes great pleasure in giving us imaginary injections with her Doc McStuffins doctors kit. Either way, the wheels are turning.

But her latest ambition has really been something to consider. As I brushed the tangles out of her long locks the conversation went like this …

“So I’ve decided that now I want to be an artist when I grow up.”

“Really? Wow, what kind of art will you do?”

“Oh, definitely finger painting.”

Finger painting folks. So that’s one of our children that we’ll be supporting for the rest of their life. Ha ha!

But in all seriousness, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our clever and very creative little cutie. Whatever career path she chooses, we’ll be right there cheering her on!

Have your kids come up with any entertaining ideas for their future employment? I’d love to hear!

Love, Amry xxx
