A Healthy Halloween Treat … Who Knew?

by Amry on October 22, 2013

halloweensnackThe words holiday and healthy rarely go together … particularly when talking about Halloween – a holiday where our kids go around threatening tricks if they don’t receive a tasty treat! But after seeing this simple and sweet idea on Pinterest, I was eager to give it a go at Amelia’s preschool Halloween party yesterday – and I’m happy to report that the healthy option was a total hit (among mums & kids alike)!

As you can see from the photos, the assembly is painfully simple¬†(even this sleep deprived mum was able to manage it)¬†- but the results are rather impressive. Just peel some clementines and put a stub of celery in place, then cut the bananas in half and chuck in a few chocolate chips to make a face. EASY! So if you plan on hosting or attending a Halloween celebration this season, forgo adding more sweets to the soiree (there’s always more than enough) and instead bring something healthy to the table. These are so cute the kids won’t even notice! Hope you’re all gearing up to have a very Happy Halloween!
