You Are My Wild

I’ve been following the ‘You Are My Wild’┬áseries for the past few weeks, and it’s left me feeling so inspired I simply had to share it here just in case you haven’t stumbled upon it. The series is a portrait project that brings together 14 photographers who share a photo of how they see their children each week. The result is beautiful images that offer a unique perspective only a parent could capture. Here are a few of my favourites so far…

5Aren’t these photos incredible?! You’ll have to take a glance at the whole series here. Candid pictures always manage to capture the true essence of a kid. The minute you try to make them pose – all the personality seems to vanish. When I look back at the bagillion of photos we’ve already taken of our Amelia, it’s the ones of an off beat moment or where I’ve caught her off guard that I love best – her mid laugh, hair wild as she jumps on her bed, or blurry as she blasts down the slide. These kind of pictures, although imperfect, seem to harness the truth of the moment, and that’s what I find so powerful about photography. Doesn’t it make you want to keep your camera on hand more often?!

And just for fun, here’s a photo of my ‘wild’ that I’d throw into the mix if I was taking part in this portrait series. An honest and unedited look at my beautiful babe and a picture of her that I simply adore.

Now go and get camera happy this week! And if you’d like to give us a glimpse of a candid photo of your own ‘wild’, we’d LOVE for you to share! Tweet us your pics @NotKeepingMum.

Love, Amry xxx

Thanks Erica! You’ll have to keep an eye on the photo series because I believe they are doing it weekly for a year. I was lucky to get that picture of Amelia – a rare moment when they’re not pulling a face or running away from you!
