Inspiration Board #1. Colourful Nursery Ideas For Baby

by Sarah on February 21, 2013

In my other working capacity as a wedding stylist and on my former blog Boho Bride, I regularly create inspiration boards for weddings – well, I thought it was about time we had some on NKM as there’s plenty of ways they can be used for family creativity. I’ve mad no secret of the fact that we are moving house next week (hurrah!) and as it will be a more permanent residence for us, Dylan will officially have a nursery (at the moment he’s in the occasional office – complete with filing cabinet!) so I’ve been excitedly making plans…

We’re a colourful household and because I regularly┬áintroduce more accessories and soft furnishings, we keep our walls fairly neutral in order to best show off our eclectic mix (or shabby mess as my husband sometimes describes it). Dyl’s room will be no different – a melting pot of up-cycled furniture meets family heirlooms and funky new baby bits and bobs. So here’s my inspiration:

For full credits of all the images – you can view the original colourful nursery board I created on Pinterest here.

So what do your kids rooms look like? Did they have a hand in the decor or is the interior design in your home strickly your domain? Spill!

Have a bright day!

Love Sarah xxx

PS I’ll let you have a peek of Dylan’s room once it’s finished xx

Perfect! I was just thinking this morning that a bright colourful nursery is the way to go – especially as with triplets we’re not sure whether we’re having boys, girls or a mixture yet! I think they will love it and it will last a good long while. I also found Rice DK via Facebook earlier which has loads of bright fun homeware and childrensware but it is a bit expensive. Will check out your links!

Oh my word Rosie, I could spend a fortune on that site! So pretty. I’m sourcing a fair bit from Etsy and am also scouring the charity shops…oh and I’ve picked up some quirky bits from dot com gift shop too.
Are you going to find out what sex the babies are – or keeping it as the ultimate surprise?! Exciting times indeed xx
