Thank Goodness It’s Friday!

by Amry on November 9, 2012

It’s Friday again. Another week down. I hope you’ve got some rest and relaxation planned for the weekend because I, on the other hand, feel like my workload is just revving up! If I had to give the next few days a movie title, it would probably be something dramatic like “To-Do Lists, Laundry & Preparing to Pack” or maybe “My Panic Before the Plane Ride!” A sure hit blockbuster, right?! You see, our little family is getting ready to cross the Atlantic for a 6 week visit to the states. Amazing I know, but it’s this final push to feel totally prepared to board that plane next week that has me making lists at 3 am, doing laundry like my life depended on it, oh and biting my nails again (a sure sign I’ve got too much on my plate)! I keep telling myself it will all be worth it – that as soon as I’m on that plane I’ll be able to sit back and relax – but then I’m cruelly reminded that I’ll be taking that 12 hour flight with a 2 year old and that ‘relax’ is a word only connected to my life B.C. You know, as in Before Child.

But hey, just because I have a crazy workload this weekend, doesn’t mean you can’t put your feet up and enjoy a few fun links from around the web. Here’s a handful I recommend…

  • If you aren’t already following the inspired ‘Living With Kids’ series on Design Mom, be prepared to spend a good chunk of time gawking at your computer screen while you catch up! Personable interviews and a good old snoop around some stunning family homes!
  • Jamie Oliver is out to help all of us busy Mums (and Dads) prepare delicious dinners in just 15 minutes! Are you watching his show on Channel 4 too? If you fancy giving one of these dishes a try check out the recipes here.
  • Whether you’re a firm believer in astrology or not, these family horoscopes are a bit of fun!
  • I followed Mila’s Daydreams toward the end of my pregnancy with Amelia in 2010. This sweet idea has since (not surprisingly) been turned into a book and even calendar. Proof that even your most indulgent Mummy hobby might end up changing your life!

Now if you’ll excuse me, the washing machine is screaming that my whites are ready. We’ll see you back here on Monday! Miss you already!

Love, Amry xxx

Yes, I’d bring you as my carry-on if I could! But don’t fret – a Brook/Christopher American Expedition is definitely in our future! Really going to miss our traditional Christmassy day out in London (with compulsory dinner in China Town)! XXX
