A ‘Must-Do’ During The Month Of May

by Amry on May 10, 2013

bluebells2During the bank holiday weekend we got outside in the sunshine and checked off one the ‘must-do’s’ on our Spring Bucket List … soaking up the beautiful bluebells at Winkworth Arboretum. I don’t think we could have ordered a better day for it! Without a cloud in the sky, we packed a picnic and set off to relish this stunning part of Spring.

A blue carpet seemed to be rolled out throughout the woodland – it was such a wonderful sight! If you haven’t ever taken advantage of enjoying this seasonal splendour, then I highly recommend you find a garden, park or woodland near you and make the most of this magical part of May! Why not make it a fun family day out this weekend? The National Trust lists a few of the top places to see the bluebells in all their glory here. Are you lucky enough to have one of these settings on your doorstep? If so, then GO!

After such a long and dreary winter, when I start to wonder why I live in this part of the world (remember I originally hail from the permanently sunny weather of San Diego), finally a sumptuous Spring day like this comes along and reminds me just how enchanting England truly is. And I promise, if you get out and enjoy these beautiful May bluebells in your corner of the country, then you’ll be reminded too!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love, Amry xxx
